While red carpets have been filled with prominent cheekbones, super sculpted jawlines, and voluminous pouts for years, we’ve begun to notice a shift in beauty trends among celebrities, and we know plenty of our BeautyFix MedSpa clients have taken note of this change as well. Rather than the exaggerated features we’ve all begun to associate with the Kardashians, musicians, and models alike, more and more of our favorite celebs have recently debuted a more subtle and natural look, which raises the question: Are celebrities dissolving their fillers, and should I dissolve mine too? Let’s talk about it!Have your favorite celebrities dissolved their fillers?Celebrities like Ariana Grande, Blac Chyna, Cardi B, and more have recently opened up about their journey to dissolve their fillers, some saying that they felt Botox and fillers were more about “hiding” than showing their true beauty. “So they’re going through this phase of dissolving their old fillers,” BeautyFix master injector, Revian Chang, RN, says. “This can definitely happen when you are not patient with your fillers and are adding new fillers on top of old fillers without giving your face a break.”While a more natural appearance is certainly trending in Hollywood and trickling into our everyday lives, we are far from seeing an end to fillers altogether. Instead, we are seeing more and more clients come to BeautyFix in search of a refined yet natural approach to their filler treatments. As we often say at BeautyFix, the best injectables are undetectable, and many of the celebrities who have spoken out about dissolving their fillers may have just switched injectors or moved toward a more natural approach that stays true to the original anatomy of their face. Watch our latest YouTube video where Revian delves deeper into the topic of dissolving fillers: Should I dissolve my fillers?Dissolving your filler may be the best course of action if you notice uneven volume in the treated area that was not there before, you notice that the product has migrated, or you just do not like the way the results look. Make sure to wait until your results have fully settled before you consider dissolving it, as some uneven volume could be the result of lingering swelling and not indicative of your final results. What is the process of dissolving fillers? Most of the fillers we carry at BeautyFix are composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. One of the benefits of these fillers is that if they migrate or you are unhappy with the way your settled results look, they are typically easy to dissolve! Hyaluronidase, or Hylenex, is an enzyme that can dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers in the face to reduce unwanted volume through injection. Once injected with Hylenex, the treated area will begin to swell (usually even more than when you got filler to begin with). It will take up to two weeks for the Hylenex to do its magic and fully dissolve the filler. Depending on the area and how much filler you’ve had, you may need multiple sessions of Hylenex treatments to get the results you want. Make sure to speak with your injector to ensure you are on the same page with your treatment plan and have realistic expectations for the outcome. Does BeautyFix dissolve fillers?Yes!
