Summer is quickly approaching, and that means many patients are visiting us here at BeautyFix MedSpa to tune up and tone up before the season. For those seeking a boost to their booty before beach day rolls around, we have many options, including our surgical BootyFix: BBL. If you’re looking for the maximum lift, this is it! However, there are a few things you should be aware of before you strut into our plastic surgery office. Read below to learn about the BBL recovery process and how to address common post-op concerns! How You’ll RecoverFirst thing’s first - we want to be clear: your post-op routine greatly impacts your surgery results. After your surgery is done, you’ll want to make sure you follow doctor’s orders to ensure you get the maximum benefit out of your treatment! It’s also important to note that with a fat transfer, up to 40% of the injected fat will not survive regardless of your recovery care, due to your body’s natural absorption process. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about key tips for your recovery!Immediately after: Right after surgery, you will experience soreness, bruising and swelling. When you arrive home after leaving the surgery center, we suggest alternating between resting and taking short walks to help reduce swelling and improve circulation. Do not sit directly on your butt; instead use a donut or booty pillow to alleviate pressure off of the grafted fat.Week one: During the first week, you’ll wear a compression garment, often referred as faja, to minimize swelling and fluid retention. Make sure to wear it exactly as directed by your surgeon. Keep using your booty pillow, and start getting treated with lymphatic or post-op massages to help speed up the healing process.Weeks two and three: During this phase, you should notice a big decrease in your pain levels, but you might still see some slight swelling. Your booty pillow is still your best friend throughout these weeks! You can continue with short walks for exercise, but avoid heavy lifting or driving unless your surgeon clears you.Weeks four and five: Congrats! Now you can begin taking longer walks and get back into a light exercise routine and resume your regular household chores and day-to-day activities. You should still avoid heavy lifting. Week six: You’ve made it! At this stage, you should no longer be feeling any discomfort or soreness. As long as your recovery is going well, your surgeon should clear you to start lower-body exercise routines. At this point, you will be able to see visible results from your treatment. While every body is different, this is a general timeline for BBL recovery. You will work with your surgery team to ensure you are healing properly and progressing to stages that are appropriate for your needs. Once you’ve seen your full results, it’s common for a few complications to arise. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered there! We have solutions for post-surgery dimpling, concavity and cellulite without having to go back under the knife.Help! I Have Divots!Remember when we said 40% of your fat will be reabsorbed into your body? Unfortunately, it doesn’t always disappear evenly. This can leave you with divots and dimpling throughout the treated area, which can put a damper in your newfound curves! Not to worry, we have a few solutions to get your rounded silhouette back.Sculptra Butt Lift: One of our favorite non-surgical booty enhancers is also a great way to help restore curves after a procedure! BootyFix: Sculptra is a biostimulator that promotes collagen production in the treated area, and in 3-6 months, you’ll see more fullness and less hollowing in those divots! Radiesse Butt Lift: Don’t have time to wait? Our other injectable butt augmentation product, BootyFix: Radiesse, is your Fix! This dermal filler immediately volumizes and plumps, and also features a biostimulator component to keep the party going! Both of these options are also great for helping you complete your silhouette by filling in hip dips!Cellulite WoesContrary to popular belief, yes, you can develop cellulite post-BBL. As the fat transfer redistributes and settles in, it’s common to see a bit of wrinkling, dimpling, and uneven texture caused by cellulite. We have some Fixes that will help get you back on track! Venus: Our CelluliteFix: Venus uses heat and radio frequency to promote collagen and elastin production through the body’s natural healing response. There’s no downtime with this treatment and it will help you in your recovery, too! Try it directly on your thighs and booty or on your abdomen to help heal the post-lipo scars!QWO: Cellulite is caused when the fibrous bands under the skin thicken and pull down, creating tension (and those pesky lumps and bumps). CelluliteFix: QWO is the first and only injectable solution to treat cellulite, and it works by breaking down those fibrous bands. It also redistributes fat cells and promotes collagen for a cellulite-busting trifecta! Now that you know all about the recovery process and treatments that can help alleviate post-surgery concerns, are you ready to book your summer body?
